Microtouch One Razor Classic Safety Razor

Chuck Norris shaves with hand grenades, Dave shaves with the Microtouch One Razor Classic Safety Razor, as does Rick Harrison.,

I just bought this today at WalMart. I was there to buy some cleaning supplies, toiletries and Mach 4 blades. I couldn’t believe the price for ten Mach 4 cartridges -$26.00 !!! So I went hunting for alternatives. Disposable razors have never worked well for me. I have extremely coarse facial hair and unless I can rinse through the cartridge they get clogged easily and shave more like duct tape than a razor. To top that off I have extremely sensitive skin and am prone to bumps and irritation. I had considered a straight razor and a safety razor for some time and done my research. Obviously the higher end cut throats and safety razors can be quite expensive so I was intrigued when I saw the Microtouch advertized on television. After hunting through the aisle with shaving supplies I eventually gave up and grabbed this thing by the checkout stand. My initial impression was one of skepticism. The razor seems well made, with the construction seeming quite adequate. Installing the first blade was easier than I thought. I had three days of stubble so this was a perfect torture test for this thing. I lathered, took a deep breath, and armed only with the instructions went to town on my face. Impressive is the only word I can use to describe the performance of this entry-level, budget razor once I found the right angle of attack for the blade. It glided nicely through my tough whiskers with no pressure required. A rinse between strokes kept the razor clean and with a little skin stretching and pulling by my fingers I was able to get an awfully close shave. My neck became slightly irritated, however. I re-lathered and gave my neck a second pass as the opposing grain on my nape has always been difficult to get on one pass with any razor. I’m thinking my skin simply needs to get used to the new razor, then it will calm down. A little after shave balm soothed the minor irritation and I regarded the initial experience as a success. Overall I’m extremely pleased with the acquisition of this item and I’d definitely buy it again.

Takes some getting used to, but worth it I have used Gillette Sensor (and later, Mach 3) blades since I started shaving, 23 years ago. They both do a great job, but the price of the Mach 3 blades has gotten out of control. You’ll pay roughly $10.00 for 4 cartridges. Disposable razors, such as Bics or Gillette Good News weren’t an option for me, as they always were rough on my face and caused a lot of irritation, afterwards. So, I began to consider an alternative.Originally, I was going to try a straight razor, but…

Good Razor I wanted to try a safety razor because the refills on the 4 to 5 razor blades are really expensive. This model is nice, easy to load & clean, & the blades are really sharp. They are much sharper than the blades I have been using. With this razor, I just take my time when shaving & let the weight of the razor do the work. I am not getting cuts & scrapes like I was when I first started using it. Razor blades are so much cheaper with these models & last a lot longer. They are well made & good…
